Second Edition of the CVO Night Events: Galileo

1CVO’s second edition took place on 14 June, based on the theme of ‘‘Galileo and its impact on the automotive world’’. For the occasion, we took pleasure in welcoming 100 people! Galileo, an operational project conducted in 2009-2010, has already become a current topic, especially since the December 2005 launch of the first two satellites of the constellation.

This European satellite navigation project targets above all the worlds of transport and mobility. We will all one day be concerned by the future applications of Galileo intended for road users. In an effort to keep all the actors concerned well informed, the night event led by Jean de Chambure from the BNP Paribas Workshop was held with the participation of the following:

- Christian Combe, Senior Consultant from 4icom-Pyramis
- Jean-Claude Dardelet, Vice President, Galileo Concession - Alcatel Alenia Space
-  Brendan Halleman, Director of Operations - ERF (European Road Federation)
- Lievin Quoidbach, Vice President Government Marketing & Strategy Europe - Navteq
- Roger Pagny, Head of the Galileo Programme and its Applications – Ministry of Transport

4The aim was to present the Galileo Project, its organisation, benefits for users, future applications on the road as well as its impact on the French economy.
The evening ended in a cocktail hour, where all the participants were able to exchange their views on Galileo!

The next CVO Night Event will take place on 22 November 2005, based on the theme of ‘‘The changing tolls in Europe’’.
